“Amazing Grace” is a dramatic hymn-story program for choir with music and narration, presenting the life-story of the former slave-ship captain, John Newton.
Converted to Christ during a storm at sea, John eventually left his dreadful occupation. He turned to study for the ministry and became a pastor at Olney, giving his years preaching salvation in Christ. Using arrangements of Newton’s own hymns, the choral book includes the script and “singable” music arrangements for choir, ladies’ group, men’s group, accompaniment, and congregation. The program gives and clear message of salvation and dedication and concludes with a dramatic choir-congregation arrangement of his song “Amazing Grace”. Written by Paul Hiscock, Glenn Christianson, and Faye Lopez.
